Level 4 Award in the Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (IQA)
£595 vat inc.
The CAVA is the most comprehensive assessor qualification and will allow you to assess occupational competence and vocational skills, both in a work and learning environment.
To become an assessor, you need to have experience and occupational competence in the area which you want to assess, along with the Level 3 Assessor qualification (CAVA). Don’t confuse CAVA with TAQA, that is an umbrella term for Training, Assessing and Quality Assurance courses. You may have also heard of the A1 Assessor course, A1 Award, or even D32/33. The CAVA is the updated version of these qualifications.
Once you gain this CAVA qualification you will be a fully qualified assessor and able to assess in your subject area. You can then work for colleges, training providers, apprenticeship providers or on a freelance/self employed basis. There is no subject specific assessor qualification eg CAVA in Early Years. This qualification will cover any area which you are occupationally competent to assess.
When you are looking for roles you may see the terms NVQ Assessor, Tutor or Skills Coach. These are all the same but the job titles can vary. For more information about eligibility and how to enrol in the CAVA Qualification that we offer, visit the course specification section to follow.

Yes you will need two learners to assess who are undertaking qualifications that prove occupational competence. You can either use our learners or your own.
If you are using your own learners you will need an expert witness from your workplace to sign off any evidence based work.
Our learners can be provided at no extra cost and you can assess them remotely. We cannot guarantee sector specific learners, but they do not need to be sector specific to gain your qualification.
You will access our online learning platform where you will find all the learning materials and resources. You will make your way through the assignments which will be marked by your personal tutor. There is no need for any face to face learning or observations by us.
If you are using your own learners then your expert witness will sign off any evidence based tasks or observations. When using our learners you will choose assessment methods that don’t involve face to face observations.
You will have your own personal tutor for the duration of the course, you will be able to email them and arrange calls for further support. Even though this is a self study course you will have one to one support whenever you need it.
TAQA stands for Training, Assessment and Quality Assurance. It is not a qualification it is the umbrella term for assessor and quality assurance qualifications. The CAVA replaced the A1 and D32/33 qualifications, they are still recognised but no longer delivered.
On Average learners take around 4-6 months to complete the course but some finish it sooner and others take longer. It really comes down to how much time you can put in. You will have 12 months to complete your course. We will be able to discuss an extension beyond 12 months and there may be admin fees applied to continue.
We have a 14 day full refund policy from the date you purchase your course. Once this period has ended course fees are payable in full.
